Daylight Saving 2012: Put your clocks forward this Saturday night

Daylight Saving 2012 begins this Sunday March 11 at 2AM. Don’t forget to put your clocks forward one hour.

Daylight Saving Time traditionally begins on the second Sunday of March and ends on the first Sunday of November.

The change in the clocks means one less hour of sleep Saturday night and has traditionally resulted in many people showing up to work or an appointment an hour late.

Fire safety officials also like to point out that this is a good time to switch the batteries on your smoke detectors.

According to the Government of Canada’s official time zones information page, Daylight Saving Time usually has been regulated by provincial and territorial governments.
