PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The mercury had already risen into the 80s in South Philadelphia when the sun came up this morning. You could feel its strength as it emerged over the horizon, and this was all before 7 a.m.
The forecast for today is sunny and humid with temperatures approaching 100 degrees. That would beat the record of 99 set in 1923. There is an excessive heat warning for the Philadelphia area until 6 a.m. Friday.
If you’re lucky, you get to sit in an air-conditioned office, but not all of us can do that.
