ARLINGTON (AP)– Matt Harrison pitched into the ninth inning for his 17th victory and the Texas Rangers beat the Seattle Mariners 2-1 on a drizzly Sunday to add to their AL West lead for the first time in 10 days.
Adrian Beltre hit his 33rd homer for the Rangers, and Michael Young had his second three-hit game in four days.
Harrison (17-9) got within one out of his fourth complete game of the season, but came out after Jesus Montero’s two-out single put runners at first and third. Koji Uehara struck out Michael Saunders for his first save for the Rangers.
