Premier Kathleen Wynne keeps doubling down on transit and infrastructure funding. It’s a hell of a thing. “New money must be found. We have to remove any doubt about that,” she told 300 business, community, union and political leaders at the CivicAction forum, dubbed “Our Region, Our Move,” at Exhibition Place in Toronto on Wednesday.

Ontario’s Liberal government will move ahead with new tolls or taxes to fund decades worth of public transit upgrades in the Toronto-Hamilton area, even if municipalities oppose the new revenue tools, Premier Kathleen Wynne warned Wednesday.

The province is waiting for a report due in June from Metrolinx, the transit planning agency, on exactly what combination of tolls, taxes or levies it will recommend to raise the $2 billion a year for 25 years…
