The Dallas Stars reported on the team’s website that the unveiling of a new uniform and logo would come on June 4, but that date may have accidentally come much sooner.
Fans began reporting on HFBoards that a new logo had appeared in the wallpaper section of the team’s mobile app.
Puck Daddy’s Greg Wyshynski appears to have found the potential slip up, however a check by the National Post came up empty.
The logo takes on a more traditional crest look that many teams have adopted over the last few years — Minnesota Wild, St. Louis Blues, Florida Panthers for example.
“Since Tom Gaglardi took over as owner, we have been working diligently on a rebrand that is classic, simple and true-to-hockey,” said team President and CEO Jim Lites in a release on the club’s website in late March.
