FOX cable camera breaks, nylon rope damages cars at Coca-Cola 600

CONCORD, N.C. — The Coca-Cola 600 was delayed after a FOX Sports television cable snapped and nylon rope fell on the racing surface, damaging several cars and injuring fans.

Kyle Busch damaged his No. 18 Toyota coming off the fourth turn and Marcos Ambrose and Mark Martin also reported damage.

The race was red-flagged on lap 127 of the 400-lap event and delayed by 27 minutes.

Ten fans in the stands also were injured. Seven were treated and released at the track’s in-field care center and three were taken to a local hospital.

The cars were brought along pit row as workers cleared the fiber cable from the track.

Ten fans were injured when a nylon rope fell over the grandstands in Turn 4 on Lap 121 of tonight’s race. Seven fans were treated and released for minor cut and scrapes…
