Liverpool may be privately resigned to losing one Suarez this summer but reports on the continent suggest that there could be another Suarez at Anfield next season.
Speculation in Portugal this weekend has linked Brendan Rodgers’ team with a move for Sporting Lisbon’s Spanish winger Jeffren Suarez.
The Reds were believed to have made tentative enquiries about the 25-year-old’s availability at the end of last year and are set to make a firmer bid this summer.
It would be a bit of a gamble for Rodgers as Jeffren has hardly set the Portuguese league on fire since his switch from Barcelona in 2011.
However, the wide man clearly has plenty of potential, having represented his country at every level up to the under-21s.
Sporting are struggling financially and it’s reported that a deal could be wrapped up for as little as £3.2million.
