MIRAMAR (CBS4) – Miramar Police are searching for the person who opened fire Thursday night after the Miami Heat won the NBA Finals.
According to CBS4 News partner The Miami Herald, someone began shooting in celebration when the game ended. One of the bullets struck a 15 year old boy in the head inside his home on the 2100 block of Sherman Circle North.
The bullet appeared to have come through the home’s sliding glass door.
“At the angle at which it was travelling, we don’t believe he was targeted,” said Miramar Police spokeswoman Tania Rues. “It happened shortly after the Miami Heat victory. There were reports of gunshots in the area.”
The name of the 15 year boy has not been released. He is recovering from his wound at Memorial Regional Hospital.
