DALLAS (CBS 11 NEWS) – CBS 11 News has learned that 15 mosquito samples across Dallas County have tested positive for the West Nile Virus.
As many as 4 of those cities sent spray trucks out Thursday night to ward off the disease which can be transmitted to humans.
One of the neighborhoods where West Nile carrying mosquitoes has been detected is in Highland Park where John and Susan Long often walk their dogs in the evening.
“We either try to go out after dark when its completely dark because its cooler or earlier in the evening,” says Susan Long.
The 15 mosquito traps where samples tested positive were in Cockrell Hill, Grand Prairie, Duncanville, Mesquite and Highland Park.
