OKLAHOMA CITY- A lot of Americans are probably thinking about lunch right about now and a new study shows many Oklahomans will be heading to a fast food restaurant.
The study looked at all 50 states during the month of May and researched debit and credit card uses at fast food joints.
Researchers found that Oklahomans spent the most money per month on fast food.
During the month of May, experts found that we spent more than $100 at fast food restaurants.
The Sooner State also ranked at the top for the year, spending on average over $1,300 in 2012.
That’s compared to New Yorkers who spent just $330 a year.
Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kansas, West Virginia and Mississippi all spent a hefty amount on the quick meals.
States like Vermont, New York, Massachusetts, New Jersey and Connecticut did not spend very much at all.
