Police identify suspect in Colorado Springs shooting deaths

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — The Colorado Springs Police Department was seeking a 22-year-old man in connection with the shooting deaths of two people Saturday night.

A warrant was issued Sunday for the arrest of Gary Glen Vigil on charges of first degree murder. The suspect is a Hispanic male standing five feet, six inches tall and weighing 180 pounds, with very short black hair and brown eyes. Vigil has multiple tattoos on his chest, neck and arms. He is believed to be armed and dangerous

The shooting, in the area of 2800 E. Platte Ave., occurred about 10:45 p.m. A male and a female were both found dead at the scene, CSPD said. The victims were not identified. If ruled as homicides, these will be the 20th and 21st homicides of 2013 for the city. There were 14 homicides in the city at this time last year, police reported.
